Introducing...
A Knight's Tale
A "One Word" Story Game
One of your scouts has returned with a mysterious report! While out on patrol, they came across an unconscious knight in the forest; suffering from some unknown ailment. Nothing more is known, other than the knight was clutching tightly onto a book - what appears to be a diary of his adventures. Your best doctor attends to the knight as soon as he's returned back to your town, but it's grave news: it appears as if the knight as cursed - his mind is trapped inside his own diary!
This curse is a cruel one, but there is a way to save him. Powerful magic has allowed us to influence the contents of his diary by writing the story ourselves. If we can pen a satisfactory narrative, it may free the poor man.
Determining that the fate of this noble knight shouldn't rest on the shoulders of any one man or woman, your mayor has asked for all Settlers to volunteer a word each, which will be added to the diary in turn:
- You may add only a single word to the story as a new post.
- Wait until at least 5 other Settlers have participated before you can post again.
- You must copy the previous entry, and add your word to the end of it using the bold formatting.
- Entries must be kept in the "Third Person" - no use of "I, my, our" etc.
- In the event that two Settlers submit a response to the same previous post, the first listed will be the only one considered moving forwards. Please check your post after posting! If this happens to you and someone beats you to the line, please delete/edit your post and try again.
Any post that breaks these rules, doesn't comply with the correct posting format or tries to subvert the story with inappropriate content will be subject to moderation, including editing or deleting a post.
If you'd like to see how this works, here are two example entries:
He clashed with theRemember to include punctuation where you think it's appropriate e.g. (. , ! ?).He clashed with the dragon
If you have any questions, please forward them to me via a Private Message, and not in this thread.
Happy scribing!
