After 2020 Flash will work as well (or as bad) as it does now, but it will not get update, support and download will be removed. We will be able to use Flash same way that Puffin uses obsolete Flash now. But since Flash is getting worse with every version, I wonder if it will work at all at the end.
What is not true? Puffin does not use local Flash for anything and it's complete cloud running behavior is described on their website. Yes Windows Phones do not have Flash but neither do any iOS devices but Puffin has always worked fine there.

You will not be able to use Flash after 2020 in any of the major browser. They have all announced in their blogs that there will be a complete removal and you can see the links bu opening the announcement in the original post. Some quotes from Chrome and Mozilla:

"Chrome will continue phasing out Flash over the next few years, first by asking for your permission to run Flash in more situations, and eventually disabling it by default. We will remove Flash completely from Chrome toward the end of 2020."

"Flash will be disabled by default for most users in 2019, and only users running the Firefox Extended Support Release (ESR) will be able to continue using Flash through the final end-of-life at the end of 2020. In order to preserve user security, once Flash is no longer supported by Adobe security patches, no version of Firefox will load the plugin."

Webassemply is replacing all of them.
Firefox, Chrome and Edge have already switched to webassembly. its not a plugin like flash and JAVA its programmed into the browser itself and uses JAVA as its base programing as webassembly and JAVA r merging.

Windows and mac will also do an update to remove flash from every system before the end of 2020. so Flash could be gone within a year as most browsers no longer support flash and that includes slim browser as thats just a version of chrome with a lot les security on it to make it faster.

So once flash has been removed no website that still uses flash will be running as no one will be able to get on those sites no matter what browser u use.
So BB has 2 choices. convert to webassembly or close down the game.

Windows and mac r adopting webassembly as well to replace flash and HTML5.
Incorrect. HTML5 is not going anywhere and Webassembly is a completely different standard. Webassembly supplements HTML5, it does not replace it.

"Puffin comes with Adobe Flash Player to play flash content, especially on mobile devices, where Flash was discontinued due to security issuses." That is from Wikipedia page and official Puffin site. Cloud is used for lowering data consumption, similar to Opera Mini (at least when they were still Opera), and for cloud storing similar to Maxton.

I have no idea what java, html5, flash, cloud all do but surely the big issue is how are BB/Ubi preparing for the end of the system which enables their game? Easy to say they have many developments in the pipeline for the coming years but maybe one of those developments could be closure of the game?

It's talking about coming with a Flash support. If you follow the link where the Wiki line is referencing as [1], it's also talking about cloud usage. You can also check the Puffin description in the App Store saying Flash content is streamed. Flash was always a banned runtime for iOS devices by Apple and all apps containing any kind of Flash runtime were always rejected. Apple never changed their stance which is why Photon, Puffin, Maxthon etc. used cloud servers to run it and only stream the content so it was never run on the device causing security issues and passed the app guidelines.
