    Liking a post

I think for the dev team to get a better understanding of how people feel about certain issues raised by the community they should include a 'Like' icon at the bottom of people's forum posts. It would be a lot easier for people, than having to reply to a post with a quote just to agree, it would be easier and quicker just to like it. Then the dev team would not have to read through pages and pages of posts all saying the same thing. Also it could give them an idea of how many members of the community might like an idea or an opinion regarding game changes etc.. As there will be a number at the bottom of the post of how many likes that the post gets.

There is an icon to report a post so why not one to like a post?

It's called voting, it's been known to humanity for quite some time, no need to ape "like/hate" systems from other sites. It would only require a thread starter to have the ability to add a poll to his post.

Edit: Yeah, I should just click "dislike" or "-1" instead of typing anything. I'm sorry

No need to talk to me like I am stupid. How god damn rude of you. A simple answer would of been just fine. I am not talking about voting or polls by a thread starter. So actually read what I wrote. Also the voting system only lets people vote on the thread, I am referring to individual posts within a thread. Which is clearly stated in my OP.

There is another game that I used to play that had a like icon on each post, some major game changes were implemented because of it. The dev team saw the numbers and agreed with the community. If it worked there it could work here.

I doubt this change would make any reasonable impact considering time invested to get it in. There's a lot of bigger problems than a like/hate-button to make responding easier.

Sure its easier to click such a button than to write something, but a lot of people already respond to posts with "+1" or "-1" if they feel they have nothing to say.. I think the whole point of not having a like/dislike button is so people will write something, add to the discussion with an arguement.
Like/hate doesnt add to a discussion, it doesnt allow BB to see what that person is thinking, which part of a suggestion/post they like (few posts are so simple).

Considering what the game makers are spending there time on (latest DevDiary), I doubt they listen much anyway, which makes such implementation even more pointless. I would prefer they acted on suggestions already being given & supported by people on forum... surely plenty such suggestions exist for them to stay occupied for a while yet. A like/hate button will not make more people come to the forum in the first place, which I suppose is the larger problem if you want any decent grasp on the "average player opinion".

Yes Kris' comment was somewhat condecending... but your own reaction wasn't much nicer. Don't complain if you can't do better, please. That won't lead us anywhere constructive.

The developers would prefer to see a discussion of an idea, not just a "like" or "+1". A post may get a 1000 "likes" but the developers would have no idea which part of the post is liked or why. A proper discussion would add more to the post, especially if it was a suggestion.

I was merely trying to defend myself. I was quite annoyed, I could of gone a lot worse but I really did restrain myself.

Reminder to keep it civil guys - if you have nothing nice to say, it's better to not say anything at all.

I like this idea and support it. I understand that BB like more discussion but sometimes this is not necessary if you have nothing to add to a post but agree with it whole heartedly. Also the forum badly needs fresh blood and in my guild we were building up members' confidence and knowledge of the importance of the forum by encouraging them to start with a +1, -1 and then in time they would add a comment if it was needed. But then it was bought home to us that their input was just going to be ignored altogether so unfortunately have stopped . It is rare these days i post on this forum.
