Thread: Which Server to Play On?

Question Which Server to Play On?

Would it be possible to have a server selection option when new players create an account?

Currently Sandycove is the default for new accounts, which means that there is always a continuous trickle of new people coming in, looking for guilds etc. and far fewer players find their way to Northisle or Newfoundland.

Given time, if a greater number of players do not join either NFL or N'isle these 2 servers will stagnate and existing players will leave because of the lack of new blood.

+1 Would certainly be nice to see more new players arriving on Northisle.

We currently have very few in a week and they get swamped with random guild invites, which they often assume are friend invites, making it nigh on impossible for guilds who do not do that to actually grow - but that is a different issue which BB need to address.

you can choose, on the registration page is a drop down menu and you can see how full the servers are, looks like sandy needs more players

We chose the default server based on the current population. As Sandycove is the one with the least players, we direct players there. This may change if the populations ever changed significantly. However, we want you to still play with friends, which is why you can manually choose your server at the sign-up if you wish.

Based on some demographics for most online games, players tend to usually pick either the "first" server or the busiest one by default.

Is this based on active players or merely on the numbers registered to each server?

Both - it takes the overall users registered to that server, but then factors in those who are actively playing. This gives us a ratio to measure against other servers.
