Event doors are on a 24 hour lock. The event started at 9AM, so 24 hour cycle is 9AM every day.

Well maybe that is why - but it still sucks.
Then let the event start at the same time as daily quests, - or do something else to fix it. The reason something is done a certain way does not prevent it from being done differently.
I am sure it is not just me who click on the calendar door in vain each morning and nearly forget to click it later in the day.

The timer on the previous door tells you how long is left before the new door can be opened.

gen. Christmas Mary is useless i think... it means all adv. with her 200 army - throwout 270,MMA, Vargus etc... and add. XP is only to killed camps by her, does it means that all blocked and jumped camps nothing? without bonus?

Seriously?
With skills to take that +100% exp bonus even higher, skills to increase troops, better battle stats than many other generals.
I'm going to give her max recovery skills, one-up, all exp bonuses and use her at every opportunity. You don't like extra exp?

I think she's a great general. Of course she doesn't compare to a specialist, but she isn't supposed to. I'll take her against a Grim Reaper any day!

Sadly the 2 Xmas missions follow the old tradition with possibiltiy of 0 presents. 65% basket 30% small amount 5% bigger amount.
It's just not worth spending gems to get those advs unless you are a sucker for 100% achievements.

I’m a little confused about who Mary Christmas is, so are a few others that I’ve spoken to. Some are saying she is Father Christmas’ wife, but I always imagined Mrs Christmas as being a lot nicer and happier... could someone please explain what (if any) relationship she has with Santa?

Whenever I see her now I just think of Mary Berry. Was she based partly on Mary Berry? Anyone else think so or is it just me?

She's not based on Mary Berry - her name is just a pun on "Merry Christmas" .
