Mary Christmas general is introduced like double XP general and with Fast learner skill, she brings 30% more XP.
I skilled her 3 jog, 3 juggernaut, 3 hostile takeover and 3 Fast learner and from YWC I got 30k XP over the top and 300 mercenary recruits.
Well, why not to try to reskill Anslem and one of MGs for hostile takeover as well. Traveling speed was sacrificed and was expected to get more mercs.
YWC, C2: 110 Desert Marksman, 100 Stone Cannon, and the result was completely confusing, MC brings 60 mercenaries , MG - 27. Not even half.
Anslem results were also skinny regarding same skill and for camps that have higher rank.
Since MC and MG are similar regarding combat strenght (difference in size of army) result should be the same for particular camp.
Obviously not, either there is mistake with MC or some hidden, not published math regarding hostile takeover skill.
Any explanation?
I got the answer from my guildies, number of mercs is calculated from xp general gain defeating the camp, so MC bring 130% more xp then any other general, 130% more mercs

Been playing around with YWC a bit more ... and my Mary has slightly different skills.
***UPDATED 23/01/2018*** 2 versions added -
speed and full run. Up to 353k XP.
This is STILL work in progress for YWC using
Skilled Generals NUS, VAR, ANS, MMA's, MG, 2x TAV - check the skills before you follow this as the skills may be different to yours, and as a result attacks will need adjusting. Its a good guide at least to where Mary can be used to boost XP.
There are 2 alternatives presented here .. speed run and full run.
Please note Wiki's version claims to gain 139k xp (non prem) 262 MS + 52K losses. EvilJ similar XP for 166R + 208MS + 1 AM losses
Speed version …. 210K XP (non prem) or 316k XP (Prem) for 285 MS losses and a NET gain of approx 200 Merc Recruits for approx 1 hr adventure = better than wiki
Full version 235k XP (non-prem) or 353k xp (Prem) for 390MS losses - still a better xp/loss ratio than wiki.
Camps left could provde approx 75-100k xp more but I considered losses to be too great.

Thanks to other previous posters on here and guild members for pointing me towards more camps Mary could be used for and Stonewaller for a really nuts block idea in latest update.

Hansel and Gretel: Camp C2 Mary 215 MM (zero Kill). No further us of Mary in this one.

I'd not recommend trying this with unskilled generals. Mostly Mary can't do a lot without huge losses in suicides and loads of generals. However, check out the L9-L12 trick and use Mary to suicide 1-2 camps if nothing else. ~75.000 extra XP from killing the treasure alone..

The camps for the long run C16-C23 are not really worth it with Mary IMO as you need to suicide them so much there's hardly any XP left, also uses up loads of generals. Though it's certainly possible. Much better to clear them with other gens and save generals and bowmen for suiciding extra fleet camps and using Mary there.
L9-L11, use Mary and 40cav (if unskilled, ie no Unstoppable charge) to suicide treasure for 20k XP each. Ie don't use MMA to clear treasure out.
Alternatively L9-L11: ~14.725 XP after wave 3
W1-W3 Any 200 bows x3 (ie 600* bows suicided) W4: unskilled Mary 15 Msw, 20 MM, 165AM, loss 15 Msw

*better generals and Rapid Fire cuts this down, target ~60 Battle Hardened Sailor, avoid using MMA, Nus or Ans in suicide due to Flanking killing treasure.

TY for posting your guide, in your first attack with Mary you lose 58MS (Ouch!). Try it with 20MS 195MM losses around 18MS. Last sector instead of blocking with TavG you attack with Mary for 14.6k XP, I could only get 10k+. With those adjustments I'm 204.4k XP (before prem) for 250MS & 220R. Thank you!
