Same as the shiney gem quest as far as I recall.
When it comes to Gene pools and shallow ends they can be found at the bar drinking pina colada's

Is this update going to be "live" or will us poor night owls be facing the usual unannounced maintenance screen when we try to play?
    We love our new CM.

    Newfoundland: 20th November 2011 to 25th November 2014. RIP
It was good while it lasted.

change logs usualy mean down time and they do get announced in advance. sometimes though something goes wrong with an update and they have to do a hotfix which doesnt always give a warning. If u read the change log it gives the date of when its going to happen which for this 1 is the 26th april. the login page usualy has the info on as well with expected start and end time. Technoligy has a nasty habbit of going wrong so the devs dont always know something is going to break or not work right till they impliment it which can cause longer downtime than expected.

Real life rarely goes as planned as u never know when something is going to go wrong. IE u plan a long trip and then ur car breaks down without any warning, or u might fall over and break ur arm or leg. U cant always plan that everything will run smoothly. Its the same with browser games u never know if the updates r going to work as planned and changes have to be made. Testing might not find the problems u get when it goes live.

Saqui will probably edit that title, when he comes on next time ... the changelog main thread has the right date: tuesday 24th
(BB always do these planned things on a tuesday, gives them the rest of the week to detect if a hotfix needs to be applied

Those are random occurences you cant actually plan for or rehearse beforehand. Software deployment is nowhere near as random.

U cant always plan that everything will run smoothly. Its the same with browser games u never know if the updates r going to work as planned and changes have to be made. Testing might not find the problems u get when it goes live.
You dont plan for things to run smoothly, instead you do the testing and make sure all the potential risks are found and adressed to the best of your ability.

The problem with BB deployments is that they seem to not even eliminate the obvious issues, which makes it looks not like a random event you couldnt possibly plan for, but instead a blunder in the release process (or something that doesnt get tested at all).
