It's worded oddly, but it just means earn the first adventure in the Excelsior by spinning enough times on the new book for the Mountain Clan campaign. It took me a little bit to figure it out too

ahh gotcha, well that makes sense.
No.. still the same for me. Like you, I have mine incomplete since I payed up the crystals and started this campaign before this quest popped up.
then you will get it completed when you finish 'A Giant Battle' - and get next one from excelsior
