    Flash ending in 2020

Searcher the forum and noone is discussing this topic.
Adobe is killing flash in 2020. As far as I know only google will keep it alive for few more years and even that is not a sure thing.

What does that mean for settlers? Are you already coding in new enviroment?

We are working on a plan for a time when Flash is no longer supported by browsers.
Moreover, even if the browsers suddenly stop supporting Flash, the downloadable client will still work.

You do realize Blu Byte are shooting themselves in the foot by not giving a better plan lots of ppl are with holding buying gems because they dont want to waste hundreds of pounds on a game that will end soon even if it isnt without a concrete guarantee players are worried.... the gem offer every 10-14 days doesnt help plus all the gem based goodies there great if the game still gonna be here in 5 years not so much if in 12 months you announce the game is shutting..... i had that in lord of ultima after spending a fortune....

Can we have even less transparency please...
And havent you been told countless times that the client is clearly not an acceptable solution? There is high concerns that it wont be any secure after support for Flash has ended.

Found the first link but it has nothing to do with flash ending
The second link has no answer from BB what they are even planning to do.

And as far as I know the downloadable client is yust a mini version of chrome and not something they actually developed, so again there is no reason that it will work after chrome shuts it down

By now BB should already have a solution for this. Or maybe they will shut it down and implement same type of multiplayer into the upcomming Settlers game in 2019

Sorry, but the downloadable client often needs the json files alterred to point to a known working pepperflash, something that many of the players of anno-onloine had to do to get it working, and isnt always a good fix.
Being based on chrome/chromium it has all the problems of file caching which Firefox does not due to ability to alter more of flash cache settings.
