    Summer Event: Housing Problem

This one needs 3000 "room for new settlers". Since your settler total automatically fills, most people will be near or actually full. Therefore, it appears this quest require me to slaughter half my standing army in one suicide-run Quest after another. And to turn off the schools/universities to stop them repopulating while I do it. Then if I kill off enough, I'll spend massive amounts of resource and time re-training everyone when we are done. (I don't have anywhere near enough Building Licences to drop enough houses for 3000 new people.)

Is there a better way to do it than a complete massacre?

you do realise this event requires you to do adv in order to get footballs, all the quest is asking you to do is what you were already going to do. just don't refill, or accept adv loot(which contains settlers) between adv, till you complete.

I've maxed my population and so this appears to need me to get 3000 units slaughtered in order to free up room. I rarely lose more than a couple of hundred on an Adventure, so we are talking about playing several adventures badly in order to maximise my loses and then spend all the resource and time to restock them all after I've completed this specific quest. I only have 6 Building Licences at the minute, so building 6 new houses won't make much difference to the required total.

Therefore I was hoping there was a way around this without the slaughter, but if there isn't then I guess it is time to get to wasting troops.

send normal troops to an ali adv or mountain campaign. Thall get rid of em real fast OR run a couple of FT's. After the quest completes you get a pop buff.

Good point. Forgot about that option. 499 diamonds is a bit steep to complete a single quest, but it beats spending the next 2 months rebuilding my forces

What to do if i need room for 750 settlers, but the counter is static?
i did one little adv. yesterday and noticed the counter didn't change
even i lost about 200 settlers
    only "unemployed settlers" works
i have 1600 unemployed but the limit is max.

I needed 4000, sent 4000 rec to an adv and killed them, that did the quest
