can't think why...
If BB could guarantee the game lasts beyond the flash end date then they would get a lot more sales, but this does seem to be a last push to get money out of players...
Only BB know about the sales figures. Neither you nor I or anybody else does for that matter.
Perhaps they've increased, or as you seem to want to convince yourself and a few other doom-mongers decreased, or simply stagnated. Who knows and who cares?
Nothing lasts forever and this game will one day simply cease to exist.
But why not enjoying what we have now instead of constantly moaning, criticising and yet keep playing, not quiting if it is that bad?
Because money grabbing practices should never be acceptable. If people don't express what they think is wrong things don't change. Blind acceptance of things is one of the worst things people can do. No matter if it's a game, work, whatever... Always express what you think can change.
And it's true only BB knows numbers but that was not what Mutant meant. A garantee for your investment should be something reasonable to expect.

Because BB is a charity?
Of course not! They're a commercial business and they offer us a game which is entirely free to play. Purchasing gems isn't mandatory, is it?
If you want to talk about money grabbing, we should have a better look at the practices of other businesses such as the one founded by Steve Jobs for example. Are their products worth the money tag they put on it? Probably not but that doesn't stop many into buying them, thus validating obvious money grabbing practices.
What I mean is that in terms of priorities about expressing what we think, BB comes at the bottom of the list.
Oh stop that gloomy thinking. I'm expecting the game to last at least another 37 years as it is proximately how long it will take me to reach current level ceiling, buy all the buildings I want, skill all my specialists, transform my island to the way I want it etc. etc. The game is not supposed to die before I do.
