doing an island of the pirates and a quest on my main island pops up in the adventure

this is with edge browser - have no idea if that makes a difference or not hadn't done many adventures before today - it will let me complete it but loops back to incomplete. I had previously done that action about 30 minutes ago.
If I go back to the main island and complete that quest, it will complete and it disappears from the island quest log.
