    Game Update 06/08/21

Does this mean we are suppose to switch to Testing1? Will there be a change log?

Game Update - 08.06.2021 (not executed)
    Dear Settlers,

The maintenance was not needed for Testing2 and is instead being applied to Testing1.

A new game version will be deployed today.

    Thank you

Unity is now active on Testing1 but is no better than it was on Testing2. Takes forever to load the graphics - you will have time to fill the kettle, boil it, make a cuppa and possibly even drink it. And still takes maybe 30s to send each explorer.

Yesterday's update was a physical maintenance on our server infrastructure.

Even that would be a help if it allocated more memory to game actions.
Sick of having to reload game as using chat, completing an adv, looking at achievements, pretty much any action causes multiple zone refreshes, time warps and out of memory crashes.

BB can we please have an update on where we are with unity, saying nothing is making people leave the game, if there are problems with unity why not be honest and say it may take longer than you thought. If we know that there is an issue but it is being looked into at least we know where we stand and will continue to play, saying nothing and have gem sales just makes it look like you are trying to get as much money as possible before the game goes dead. Please Please tell us something.

Please check out our latest news on our website: "Unity Version Progress" and "Unity & Summer Test Events". In these two news, we shared all the "what's next" details. More news will follow as we get closer to the release.

BB_Traffer - You mention latest news but the most recent post with any indication of a date was actually this one from 17th March >>> https://forum.thesettlersonline.com/...l=1#post362312

    You posted
    -------
Unity Test-Server: You will soon be able to take a first look at the Unity version yourself. We are currently planning to give you access to the test server within the next 2-3 weeks.

Unity Live-Server: Easter is just around the corner and since we don't want to interrupt the annual Easter event for an extra deployment, we won't roll out the Unity version until May. This gives us more time to test and you an undisturbed Easter event.
    --------

The comments above state you didn't want to interrupt the Easter event so roll out of Unity (on Live Server) would be May. We are now in June and given the lack of clarity around dates, the significant number of bugs / performance problems on the test server and the fact that the football event ran from 22nd June to 20th July and its unlikely you will want to disrupt this years football event, I am assuming the earliest we will see Unity (if at all) on the Live Server is going to be August.

Pointing us to 2 entries on the website that give no information regards the ongoing slippage and BB taking a conscious decision to not keep its customers (paying or otherwise) informed on progress means that I am assuming the game is more likely to be pulled than to have a stable Unity version available.

If there are many others thinking the same then:- player logins will go down, active engagement in the game will go down, gem purchasing will go down and BB is unlikely to invest in increasing the dev community to resolve the problems. So come on, give us some confidence that there is a new target date, even if it moves again.

I am referring to the latest news because they are.... the latest. The Unity version is coming and the final date will be released in the near future, with the summer event coming AFTER our Unity Version is released. It also answers the second question about technical issues, but I will discuss them later.

I would also not refer to the dates of past events as they may change due to different circumstances until we publish official news with the date of the event.

As the name suggests, Unity Test Server is a Test Server for a wide range of players. The Test Version is not the Final Version that will be available to play on our Live Servers. If that were the case, we would not be running a Test Server, but we would put this version directly on our Live Servers.

Bugs/issues & suggestions on our Test Server that are reported by players are sent to our dev team daily. For example, as we mentioned in our latest news, many issues have already been fixed, and you can see in the latest changelog that we have fixed more than 30 bugs just in that update. We are working hard to prepare the Unity version for live release.

As soon as the Unity Version will be ready, we will publish the release date.

As this thread went in the wrong direction, with some exceptions, I deleted all posts that are not related to the test server update.

I encourage you to continue the discussion in the appropriate threads on the forum.
