I fail the see the rationale behind halving the length of time that a cake buff lasts, even if you have doubled the output as you say. This means players will need to find twice as many candles and dough meaning needing to do even more adventures. In addition many players will be unable to login that regularly in order to re-do the cakes. Sorry BB, bad call this one

PS In-game cake description still says they last 16/24 hrs as per the old style figures......

    Update Developers Diary

    Dear Settlers

We have made the following corrections:

    • The values shown in-game for the Birthday Cake buffs are still using the old values but this is purely a visual bug; they function as intended and as stated by their entry in the Dev Diary.
    • The Adventure Bookbinder has been removed from the developer diary as it is no longer obtainable.

We apologize for any confusion this may have caused.

    Happy Settling,
    Your "The Settlers Online" Team

the new times for cake buffs make the game very difficult to play. to be here every 12 hours is not always possible but at least 24 hours was doable. My hall will be running a lot without a buff as I am sure a lot of them will. Don't think we will make balloon goal this year !

You also get less balloons for your candles/dough, under the old system for 500/400, friend placed so 24 hours buff, on one channel of Hall using mortars you would get 24 x 28 = 672 balloons. (Assuming cycle time of 60m as 61m makes the maths silly). On the new system you get 12 x 42 balloons = 504 balloons.

You cannot 'halve the time' and 'double the % increase' to achieve the same result, you need to take the % increase to 300 rather than 200 to achieve parity. (12 x 56).

Why is the number of items being taken by the Hall incorrect and keeps rising? I started out converting 22 wheels to make 36 balloons with large cake. Over the course of less than 12hrs the input has risen to 46 wheels, meaning I was using 46 to make balloons. However, there were also then showing 2 conversion options.....24 or 46..when I re-selected the 26 wheels input it changed back to the correct number and, amusingly, the 46 input option vanished. Game is ruined BB, why spend time changing cake buff times and counters for that when you have so much more that truly needs fixing?

Well that's one way of describing it. Stupid bug would be my choice. Or maybe uncaring negligence? Uninterested apathy?
You may dismiss it as a "visual bug" but settlers make decisions based on the in-game information. We shouldn't have to cross-check against forum posts..
