    Petite Birthday Cake - Duration

Seems the Petite Birthday Cake is only giving 8 hours instead of the 16 hours promised on the Festival Hall

half the duration, twice the output bonus so it is better than the previous incarnation

Actually, it isn't. The previous cake was +100%, the new is +200% so on the surface it seems the same till you do the sums. If we take an easy number and let the unbuffed output be 10 balloons then +100% is 20 and + 200% is 30, ie it is worse. In order for there to be parity the new, shorted buff, would need to be +300% but I wouldn't expect the mathematical geniuses at BB to realise that - or maybe they did and it is just a way to eat more resources, a bit like the Festival Hall defaulting to level 75 input, but of course that would just be cynical.

but if you buff the hall twice a day most days you get more balloons- The bigger issue is the double resources change in festival hall

they suggest you reset it- but every reset also resets timers and it is so tedious that most just give up on it

So basically it is easier to reach the 15 target for most- but it ninja costs you a lot more if not careful

Sorry, but Joe is correct, the old cake time was twice the new time so it was already buffed all day making your comment mathematical nonsense. The new system makes balloons slower and means you need to make more cakes, hence more candles and dough are needed.

no it doesnt- unless of course you insist on using the same amount of buffs during event as last year as then you will run em unbuffed much longer.

If you keep the buffs up most of the time, you will get more balloons- the only tricky part is getting enough buffs to keep em running with buffs

The big cake runs at a 200% bonus, and used to be a 100% bonus.

if - for simplicity- we state that 1 cycle produces 100 balloons unbuffed then buffed last year you get 200 an hour (once again for simplicity) and this year you get 300 an hour buffed.

    So last year you could get 24 x (100+ 100 bonus) = 4800 balloons.

This year you get buffed 100+ 200= 300 an hour buffed- to get the same 4800 balloons you need to run (on average 16 hours buffed- but that still leaves you 8 hiurs which unbuffed gets you andother 800 balloons.

As long as your buffs run 2/3th of the event you will make more balloons than last year in the same amount of time.

if you have the materials for the buffs - it will be a lot easier to hit personal targets and get to the rolling quest. So making balloons isnt the issue- getting buffs and materials on the bugged festival hall will be a much bigger problem fo rmany.

For the lower lvl players, it is yet again a different ballgame, if they play their cards right, they can swap a lot of dough for candles whilst earning dough at much higher numbers per adventure or search

The fact that you need more buff making items to make more balloons is correct and logical as well form a design point of view. But that doesnbt mean making more balloons is harder. this event has run many years and i never had issues with getting enough buffs, not at lower levels either.

The balloon making maths is not nonsense, it is just straightforward math, you make more balloons this event than last event if you keep buffing up 2/3 of the time or longer. The resourse side is a different discussion altogether

This is intended, and you can find the explanation in our Dev Diary here.

The In-Game description is wrong, and it was reported to our Dev Team.
