On Zone-Wide Buff, Graphical Aesthetic, and Player versus Environment/Player.

    To: Appropriate Readers,

The following suggestion will have to be explained by an example. The zone-wide buff called, "Winter Paint", which has an effect of covering your island in a light coated frost, though just a decorative buff; and before going on, again, this is just a suggestion; the decorative buff should have some kind of advantage to the player: when an island is covered in a light-coated snow, then battles against an environment, should reflect to the player's advantage, whom have applied the decorative buff; whether that buff would give a player's army with a higher damage outtake during battles, or have the enemy's damage reduced, because of such a realistic decorative buff, should be considered by the developer to add a sense of realism, and thus, prove that the game is immersive, rather than just a simulative experience.

I'm sure that there are many decorative buffs that could follow from such an example provided. It would be in a player's hope that game developers would consider such an in-game measure.

i hate to break it to you, but in real life snow doesnt give much of an advantage beside looking pretty- most cases it is a disadvantage - except if you are in some ski resort ofc

I like the decorative island buffs- they are a "play thing" between people or some just like the look on their island. Youa re again proposing something that is already in game as there are plenty of zonebuffs that give the player an advantage so there is no real need for this- There is nothing wrong with a playful element in game and beside that, for the real roleplayers, these "decorative buffs" will make the game more immersive for them in the first place- As they are decorative, there are no real time restrictions or cooldown timers on em either

That's a fine comment. Unfortunately, in a scenario, for example, a player versus player environment, where variables are even between players, that, should players in a player versus player environment find themselves at odds, only to both mutually assured destruct in a virtual environment, these aesthetic buffs, should they have in-game buff, would make all the difference. Thus, there is a real need for this, following the forum thread of this particular post. Otherwise, the player versus player environment; the main feature of the game; would be wholly meaningless, and thus, game developers would be out of a job, and business stakeholders will lose their investment. These seemingly little things, do add up, by the end of the day.

As the story from Hollywood goes when Joan Collins found out she was going to be in episode of Star Trek she thought she would be going over to South East Asia to entertain the troops. Your idea of what this game is, is about as far from reality as what Joan thought Star Trek was. Your lack of homework into the game has resulted in you mistakenly assuming that just because the "Kingdom" building games that you know of contain a strong player v player element that all such games do, the reality is not all such games do, there is no strong player v player element to this game. PvP here is a minor side-line in this game, a side-line so minor that it's been broken for a couple of years now and is low down on both the developers and players list of things to be fixed.

To get a suggestion taking up you need to present a credible argument as to why it's a good idea, your lack of knowledge about the game is causing you to fail at this in the worst possible way.

If that's the best you can come up with when somebody points out the flaws in your argument then all your proving is your not prepared to prove your point and fight your side.

c'mon guys calm down, its just a suggestion and it does feel like ur picking on miss tweak a bit. it took me a looooooong time to work out what the flippin eck this is about.

I think the idea is to have a decorative effect with zone buffs.

Doesn;t seem like such a bad idea in plain english.

Let miss tweak find out about pvp herself, we've all been there and we know!

Nah- the point was that decorative zonebuffs are pointless in game and they should all have a zone effect/benefit associated with it- so game fluff and RPG elements are not for her and hence not needed in the game and need to be changed :P
