I see that yet again you have failed to fix this buggy event, you have only got yourselves to blame about the flood of bug reports your about to receive.

Sadly very true Doro, and still looks like Scots fans still won't get their flag. Took them long enough to add Wales before.
Really don't know why BB are running this, apart from the myriad of bugs that plague it, the Football Event was every 2 years, coinciding with either the World Cup or the Euros. Then BB started slotting it in intermediate years to fill a perceived gap in gem selling opportunities, but that's not necessary this year. We already have the much more significant 30th Anniversary Event due, very notable as it means that nearly all players have been playing Settlers for half their lifespan or more!
Celebrating Volker's original masterpiece should be the focus this summer, not yet another reminder that bugs are rife in the game and that Unity is not fit for purpose.

    Tja.

Ok so 1 copper ore per 10 minutes:
    1 year has 525.600 minutes.
So 1 year yields 52.560 copper ore.
Price of tribute is 1x 4,399 Footballs.

Footballs go for what? 400 coins each? 1000? (previous events)
Let make it a cheap 100 coins for the sake of my point.
439.900 Coins to get the tribute.

So the other day I bought 100.000 copper ore for 17.000 coins.
439.900 Coins buy's me about 2.58 Million copper ore.
If footballs go for 200 coins each, 5 Million.

Say I sell footballs for copper ore, at 100 coins value each ball, I would need 170 balls to get me the 100.000 ore.
That is about 4 explorers on prolonged search.
If the market prices are 400 coins each ball, then I would need about 43. 1 or 2 Explorer searches to get me 100.000.
Or at least it would get me the 52.560 copper ore the tribute yields in 1 year.

Why on earth would someone pay 4399 footballs for a tribute?

After all these years I still don't know how to play this game.

    update:

    50.000 ore 500 coins, 5 footballs.....
    ~880 years to break even....

As usual cheetah, your reasoning is completely wrong !!

There is only one objective price for footballs in game- The football to coin conversion in the prov house!!
That is already 100% better than the BB offered conversion after the event of 1 football = 1 coin

The palyer market fluctuates from server to server and during event so is hardly to be seen as an objectively set price !!

Trust BB to be fair in pricing!! Have they ever let you down?

that is the way the shop mechanics work, if it is not unlimited, it is player only.

Been like that forever so not really worth complaining about - all the items can be individually mailed- it is a pain but an easy work around- although i do not see the worth of this packet with the prices of industrial mines in market )
