What most likely happened is your guild almost reached the gold rank but still missed it.
The popup you're showing is not indicative of anything because (as abusrd as it sounds, but still in character for BB) its hardcoded - my guild didnt do anything the entire event because noone even logged in, and the same popup shows me gold reward like it does to you.
Yes, the same thing happened with our guild. Indicator shows gold, got silver rewards. Not having an accurate raking indicator really hurts those trying to maintain their ranking.
We got the same ... silver tier rewards even that mouse over showed Gold.
The Gold was announced to be for top 10% of the guilds, but seems like only top 10 (not percentage) got it. Who knows. Unless you were in top10 leaderboard, the whole event was just running in the dark, including the reward system.

The problem is the tooltip is bugged and shows Gold for every guild no matter how well they were doing. On the German forums the devs acknowledged that they know of the bug on the 2nd of Dec.
We have been told in the reward window - for 10 days now that we had the gold
why then do we get the reward for silver?
Maybe you should have finished testing this on test server- before releasing it.

Check couple of posts up, like allways, Germans got the info 2nd Dec., just noone bothered to say it in English.
And things are found on testserver, some bugs reported, they sort some of them, not all, and still they bring them into live, every freaking time. Coz of schedule.
