are we getting group sending of explos still ?
Well, I doubt they're going to keep the game exactly as it is now. Either they mess up the whole thing with all the bugs, or they start conceptualising a new version that will probably not work like the old one. Either way, I doubt it'll last... But let's see.
One thing I wonder about though, this is a Settlers game, a trademark held by Ubisoft (Bluebyte). Will other Settlers games migrate as well?
As someone who has played most of the earlier (disc) versions of The Settlers I was wondering the same, but the CipSoft press release says, "The Settlers brand will remain at Ubisoft."
Either way, this can only be good. We were all getting frustrated about bugs not being fixed and promises not being kept.
My concern was that Ubisoft/BB were simply going to shut the game down. They'd obviously lost interest, even removed the Mods.
I'm more than happy to let someone else have a go. Bring it on CipSoft!
P.S. I noticed there was no mention of an update for today or tomorrow, so no Easter event?

I have been playing Tibia since its early development stage (around 2002). Despite slow early progress, the game has constantly evolved, introducing new locations, spells, and gameplay mechanics. What always stood out to me was CipSoft’s approach to balancing old and new content—features that fell behind or were rarely used were not simply abandoned but instead adjusted, ensuring they had a meaningful purpose rather than just existing as remnants of the past.
As CipSoft has mentioned, Tibia started as a small passion project among friends. But what makes Tibia remarkable is how it transitioned from a simple, hardcore 2D MMORPG into a constantly evolving and deep game world. Over the years, we have seen major changes, such as:
Expanding the world – New continents, cities, and dungeons have been introduced, keeping exploration fresh.
Evolving combat and spells – More diverse spells and runes have allowed for different playstyles across vocations.
Quest & mission variety – Instead of just simple "fetch quests," complex story-driven missions like the Inquisition Quest or the Secret Library added depth and lore.
Balancing old systems – Content that became obsolete wasn’t ignored but reworked (e.g., knight healing mechanics, task systems, and even the vocation balancing updates).
Major quality-of-life improvements – From hotkeys and hunting analyzers to automated loot sorting, the game became more modern while still maintaining its nostalgic charm.
Community-driven updates – CipSoft has consistently listened to player feedback, whether through feedback forms, test servers, or community polls.
What stands out the most is how CipSoft has prevented Tibia from becoming a monotonous "to-do list." Despite being an old-school MMORPG, the game always finds ways to stay engaging—events feel dynamic, updates bring new mechanics instead of just recycled content, and there’s always room for different playstyles, whether you’re a PvE grinder, a PvP enthusiast, or a casual explorer.
With that in mind, for the first time, I feel genuinely excited. The hope that many The Settlers Online players have patiently awaited might finally become reality—if CipSoft nurtures this game as well as they have Tibia. If they bring the same passion, creativity, and long-term vision, then we may finally see TSO evolve beyond its stagnant state.
Welcome aboard, CipSoft! Looking forward to what the future holds.
Like others we felt like Ubisoft had lost focus with TSO, it was no longer cool or new. To many little issues remained in the game, too many new feature not quite tested or validated, and no real appreciation of the player base.
I welcome CipSoft as custodians of a game that has kept me entertained for over 10 years.
Please take time to understand the game, understand the issues we face, and what it means to be both a new player and an "addict".
Look at how some of us play when what we can do in the browser is simply not good enough any longer.
Don't try to tempt us with changes that don't improve playability, just focus on making what we have work and then explore what can be added to keeping life interesting.
Most importantly do what Ubisoft stopped doing - keeping the players informed in a timely manner, respond to feedback, and rebuild the community so it feels like you care.
Above all thank you - keep us here and we will continue spending money on this game for the next 10 years![]()
does anyone really cares who owns the game?
Good, looking forward to it, even tho, might take up to year for full transition and new comp. getting into code, hope they start with fixes and not new content.
Other option was shutdown, so kinda very happy for now with those news.![]()
BB, with such performance, you will continue to lose players faster you can get them.
Don't know much about the new Custodians but hoping they steer well clear of Ubisoft's policies which have basically destroyed their company, hence recent Star Wars & Assassin Creed game! Talk to the player base & understand what they want, not what you think might work!
