If they take the game off the Ubisoft authentication servers that'll get rid of 90% of people's problems. So that's good. Looking at CipSoft's website at their other games, they're fully into slow burner games with steady, but low, income streams, so they know the market. I think this is a great move for the game. Ubi/PP have patetly lost interest in the game. Way too many bugs, way too little development. They had become complacent about the playing community.

If it was me in CipSoft's place, I'd work on improving the web experience. There's a reason most players use the client. I'd also develop/copy my own client and sell it, for a small fee, to provide an income. If it weren't for current world events I'd probably drop a few euros to Sirris to do it for me. A web front end that is attractive and useable is the shop window for new players. FTP via browser, cheap to play via client. I'm as mean as they come (I'm from Yorkshire originally) and I'd pay a bit of my pension for the functionality of the client. Get new players hooked on the web, keep 'em with the client. But don't preclude L80s (or above?!) from the web either.

And then I'd set about sorting out the dreadful code that must be behind the game now. Regardless of how well or poorly Ubi have looked after the codebase, it's ancient and nearly every new change breaks something. We've waited a long time for great new content. We can wait a bit longer in return for improved stability, and maybe another 20 levels as a quick boost from the new team.

And most importantly of all, learn a lesson from Ubi/BB's mistakes and keep us informed. Ask our opinions. Ask for feedback. Use the test server to actually test stuff and take note of issues.

If they're as good as current CipSoft users say they are, and they're serious about keeping this thing going, I think they can make a great job of it.

Hey folks - just want to clarify a few burning questions from this exciting announcement:

    1. No progress is being lost; account status and progression are being maintained!
    2. The Easter Event is still on track, and the usual details will be shared next week!

We're still collecting other questions players have and hope to have a sort of FAQ in the near future!

    10+ years and still here.
Sometimes I wonder why, with all the bugs, downtimes, bad excuses etc.
I cannot say it any better than Kistelek and others have said.
Go slow, but secure and let us give the input and we will stay for another 10+ years.

I recently came back, just a few weeks ago. I hope CipSoft keeps the game attractive. But I suppose they are going to, because why else would they acquire TSO? I only can play it now and then, so the game should be attractive to irregular players too. By that I mean players who are not able to play on a daily base.
