For at least the 3rd day in a row my copper geologist has failed to find any copper deposit that can be mined quicker. He has at least a 45% chance of this happening, yet currently on my island I have 6 copper mines which I have none which can be mined quicker. 3rd day in a row! There should be at least 2 if not 3 being mined quicker at any given point?
No, you have a 45 % chance each time you send the geo, of finding a faster deposit, it does not mean you will have 45% of your deposits with that skill. You still have a 55% chance of not finding a deposit with that skill. You are just having bad luck.
Hey I'm a gambling man so for 3 days in a row I dont get any maybe 1 after sending the same geo out for copper deposit every time thats 18 times and lets say for arguements sake I get 1. Thats totally against the law of averages no way should that happen!! Bad luck or not!!!!
just collapse them until you find what you need each time, If resource's are in issue find all 6, place one to build or queue a well up or something . line up the next five/six, two at a time and delete them, then delete the first, this way it will have cost you one mine to collapse all 6 or the cost of a well. your get your six fast mines every time this way.Originally Posted by forfoxachemin

This isn't how probabilities work. You have a 55% chance to find an ordinary one. That doesn't mean that you are guaranteed a fast mine after three searches.
The chance of finding nothing but normal mines 18 times in a row is about 0.03%. Small but not impossible.
