It doesn't make any sense on Sandycove, but there are a lot of servers, and they all have wildly different markets.
Without checking them all, for example Andosia server you can only get around 400 bronze swords for 30 gold.

Different servers, different ages of the server, different level and wealth distributions all affect things.
