So much that it would effectively break the game. I think designers would never introduce such permanent general. But a temporary general is a different story... Maybe if buff wears off when you leave the influence area, so that you can skip only one camp, but not all of them...
instead off a buff, maybe this.. alot of this game is % chance so how about this.. a general with a declining % chance of bypassing influence areas.. like 1st area = 90% chance, 2nd area 75% chance, 3rd area 50% chance, 4th area 25%, 5th 15%, 6th 10%.. ect..... and what ever camp Catches the General fights it. any area where a leader camp survives is still protected by influence area

so if you planed on attacking a camp 4 influence areas away but get caught on the 3rd. you may not have the right troop set up and hence lose the battle
