I would also like to see the information of how many troops I have on an island during adventure.. it annoys me that this info isn't available
Another smart place for this would be in the Barracks. I usually have a certain idea what troops I need to be taking to the next adventure; seeing how many troops I have and assigning more to train are actions that usually follow one another. Doing this in the same building would save back and forth jumping from tooltip/mayor to barracks.

Or perhaps in the settlers HQ. That would make that worthless [ decoration ] , actually worth something.
