First insights: PvP Progression System & Rankings
Sneak peek is a brief information about one of upcoming game versions.
It may not reflect the final status of the content.
Once the game version is finalised, a corresponding Dev Diary will be published.
Dear Colonists,
Exciting new features are about to be ready for testing soon. Based on all the feedback, wishes & comments we received from players around the world, two major features have been developed for the PvP/Expedition mode.
PvP Rankings and an Expedition Progression System
An early test version will be deployed on the international test server,
most likely this week (Thursday, 23rd of April, 2015).
More details: A detailed description of both new features will be provided once the development has been finalised.
For the first time ever in "The Settlers Online", permanent rankings will become available.
The rankings will be found on the website. They will be recalculated every few minutes and reset monthly.
An archive of the past months will be available. As a first step, the rankings will be provided for each local game world. In a later version, worldwide stats will also become available.- The ranking page always shows the top 10
- The viewing player's rank and the player one rank above / beyond are also shown
- Only PvP battles will be taken into consideration
Hidden by menu: "Efficiency" and "Killed units"
The PvP Progression System provides additional rewards for players engaged in PvP.
The more Expeditions are played, the higher the PvP level will be. Tied to the level, there will be additional PvP specific rewards and unlocks.
- 30 PvP levels can be unlocked by PvP XP in the initial release
- For each gained level a reward can be collected
- PvP XP can be gained by killing enemy units on Expedition islands
- It will be included in the Expedition loot mail
Expedition Unlocks
Certain permanent PvP level rewards, preliminary called "Expedition unlocks", can be collected.
They are cumulative, i.e. a 5% Valour Point multiplier can be collected up to three times.
That would result in a 15% total bonus on Valour Points included in Expedition loot mails.
The new version will most likely be deployed this week - please check the test server news for further information.

Happy testing!
