Confirmed the first here, I also can do not / can not see that message. Good thing I read about it on the forums.

@BB_Azariel, maybe better solution is send message in game. Many people login direct via game URL (http://www.thesettlersonline.com/en/play) and ignore news section.

BB_Azariel answered why it isn't exactly helping a few posts back.

The problem with the In-game message is that it will appear as a popup on the screens of those playing. It won't come up on all the people who aren't connected at that precise moment.

I think a lot of people would also go "WTF" at the popup and insta close it, or have a popup blocker and such. :P

If you meant in-game mail, I suppose that can work but there are.. four places? To find it on.

Website, once that works. Twitter, Facebook, and the forums.

Psychynius, I think what they meant by pop-up was the little box that 'pops up' when you enter the game, and for quests.

An alternative would be to have a static maintenance page replace www.thesettlersonline.com/en/play, having such information as;

"Undergoing Maintenance

Sorry for the inconvenience but TSO is currently undergoing maintenance.

Start Time

• 7a.m (GMT)

End Time

• 12p.m (GMT)

In the mean time check out the forums, our Facebook or our Twitter page."

Something like that anyway for the people who use the /play URL straight away.

as i have writen in my own topic.
that at the german server game.

they have the front page /news open with updates on how long they are in the update process, with time zones and notes on how it all goes.
So no i can not either see that page azariel. strange???

Ah, but there we go already. That little box when you log in (assuming you mean the one with "Welcome to the settlers Beta" and "Initialising login" and stuff.. Else, I'm still clueless as to which one. Forgive me, I slept terrible.) always goes away in a few seconds for me at least. My login times for the game have so far been quite rapid. ^.^

If not that one, then I'll just shush and will try to find it once I'm in-game.

i think they mean our "mission/quest" box which always for some reason opens up when we log in.
that could be replaced or a one similar could state and give info about the maintenance or other important news.
