go to pofile page log in at top of page alsways works first time for me as the other way loops back
Still loops back when using top login and blue login button on front page. So still using profile page.
I had a period Yesterday when the login issue appeared to have been fixed and it was all working again, however on using the top bar login this morning, the looping issue seems to have returned. The profile page login workaround is still working for me (using IE 10)
I've been having log in problems for days , but i found by chance that logging into support took me into the game . Wierd !
It's no coincidence that Anno online is behaving in exactly the same way when attempting to log in. It loops back to log in and the same work around i.e. logging in through my profile works. IE10 user.
YAY! Back in -- momentarily. It only took 1-1/2 hours of attempting to log in from every page on the site, both at the top and round button, closing/reopening browser, refreshing the page, etc. Now I can't remember from WHERE I actually got back in (grrr!).
I actually DID try that Fexno, to no avail. I'm using IE8 and I'm in NOW, but never had problems before with looping login page until Sep 1, when I logged in after vacation (maybe last maintenance they goofed something up). After trying everything under the sun, I was on yesterday - but when I went to log in today -same thing happened. Maybe it's an omen for me to get a life! LOL!
Thanks for the tip - if it happens to me again tomorrow, I'll try your hint again (and again, and again).
Have a good day!
Day 6 of Login issues ..... today I signed in from everywhere on the site, and finally got in on the "voucher" page, using the the top menu bar log in instead of the round blue button bottom left. Is this going to be fixed?
I managed to log in today on IE without problems so I think its now been fixed.
I can get round this using the following process
Click on "HELP/SUPPORT" then click on "Contact Form" then click on the "login here" link
This always gets me to the "Play Now" button
This also indicates it is not a browser issue, but an issue with the main login screen
Still having issues with login on normal way, still using the "my profile" workaround.
Same for me too. :( [Win Vista :( & IE9]
Still same issue here on NorthIsle - on one PC . Log in from main page - white screen - throws me out. Forum - wouldn't let me in either . HELP page - that worked ! Odd ! :(:confused:
i have same problem, i write support and get answer, that its OK now. but still its very rare, when i get in whit first password enter. worst case i tried 33 times and then voila-im in. i change password several times, no helping. i maybe write support again one day, but let see, hows my lomganimity
Hi all,
We are working on this issue currently and apologize for the inconvenience you're experiencing while trying to log into TSO. I will let you know when I have more information.

I agree with WippleWorm. For a long time whenever I logged OUT of the game and closed my browser, a new browser window would open prompting me to log in again. I could close this extra window multiple times, and it would always pop back open - like it was looping. I got around that by clicking a different URL after logging out, and finally the new Settlers window would go away.
I think when they fixed THAT problem, they caused this other looping login issue. I also do not believe it's a browser issue, but something they changed within the log in script.
Please fix this problem soon! As of today, I'm still not able to log in 'normally'!
Why not rename HELP/SUPPORT as EMERGENCY LOG IN - still the only way I can log on on this PC !!!
on main login screen click on `my profile` and login there instead this ALWAYS works and I have same issue as everyone else using IE
Got the same issue here while using IE, I messaged the support team but unfortunately the reply wasn't particularly helpful.

Almost as if they hadn't even read what I said in the first place.
Any exchange between you and Support is considered private, as mentioned in the rules:

happily playing then got booted, and was unable to log in via IE, i can log in on chrome, but unfortunatly this interfers with another game i play that has a chrome based client.
If i have to choose one ill choose the other one so please fix this, IE is a browser used by a lot of ppl please make it so the game works on it, after all its not a beta game it should at least work on the major browsers
If you have the same problem as described in the first post, then following the steps I mentioned in this post should help you.
after updating adobe flash player I was able to login using the top bar on the login page again, the login on the left that turns into the play icon is still just looping though.
I cot a connection failed message and with the screen that says settlers is experiencing difficulties and working on fixing them, I was logged in, but couldn't get to the loading bar to play, going through profile didn't help, but google chrome worked fine, after 3 hours IE began working as normal
Morning
Still the only way to log in on this PC :

Oddly enough Log In is misspelt as Contact Form :p
Hi all,
Web Dev is still looking at the issue, but I've made a temporary fix to the main page by archiving all the news videos. The log-in seems to work fine on IE9 now-- let me know if this is improving things for you.
EDIT: I've also tested in IE8 and it seems to be fine. Let's hope that this fixes the problem for you all!
Best,
BB_Alpaca
Login using the top bar worked OK for me today. :) That's the 1st time in over a week, so maybe something got fixed last night...
now seems to be working fine for me.
great job.

I'm still getting this with IE. Takes 20-30 attempts and about an hour to get logged in. Ridiculously frustrating. Have tried all suggested fixes (except using another browser as I don't have that facility on work PC) and no joy. MEH!
I guess the problem has resurfaced. If it is indeed the same problem try the following:
When using Internet Explorer and experiencing the "log in loop", goto http://www.thesettlersonline.com/en/profil and use the "Log in now" link to log in.

That seems to work.
Cheers,
Fexno
Thank you Fexno, but I have tried that and it doesn't work either. I've tried logging in from profile, using the blue circle and the top bar, all with the same result. It looks like it's logging in but when the screen refreshes it still asks for the password. I've cleared cache etc, rebooted, all to no avail.
To be honest, it hasn't resurfaced as it never really went away for me, just took a few fewer attempts for a couple of days.
I had problem with IE last week and it was only resolved after using Piriform's free version of CCleaner to remove IE Temporary files, Cookies, History and Index.dat files.

I also had CCleaner set to remove Multmedia temporary files for Flash, etc.

Maybe try to deselect the "Remember password" checkbox. I've heard some people mention that is helped them.
Also, if settlersonline is in you favorites list, don't forget that you need to tell Internet Explorer that you want to clear that history too. (See my "how to clear cookies" if you don't know what I mean)
On the log in page, but before trying to login, press CTRL+F5. This will force a complete reload of the page.
I hope, one or a combination of these options helps you out. If so let us know what helped, if not please keep us posted (Especially when we think it is fixed)
Cheers,
Fexno
i have the same problem but got to my profile then log in with no problems I use internet explore
This problem does seem to have resurfaced for me. Login via the profile page does still work so I guess I will have to use this until it is fixed once again.
The top bar lack of functionality is back for me too. It coincided with the arrival of the backstage video...
