What is point of building gold mine???

It's really unbalanced and I think It should be changed, amount of gold ore. Amount of gold ore = 300, it mean, 300 gold ore = 150 gold,
150 gold = 37 coin. Ressorses for building 1 gold mine 1400 hardwood planks, 1400 marble, 1500 tools. All this ressorses have trade value cca 400 = 25 coin, so it mean if you don't build gold mine and just sell ressorses you need to build 1 gold mine you will earn about 270 coin. So when people finally understand this calculation that you get 270 coin instead 37 noone will build gold mine anymore, offc you can buy some gold deposit, but diamonds needed for that again are not worthfull to spear on it. So finally you come to conclution gold mine is usless building in this game. My sugestion would be gold ore must be by deffalt atleast 2000+, 2000 mean you can get 250 coin from 1 gold mine.

I forgath to mention, allso you need 1 coal by each gold ore to make 1 gold.

Buff mine, buff smelter, buff coiner. 300 gold = 300 coins. Certainly not great but it's a heck of a lot better than 37.

Maybe it tempts you into using gems to add gold to the mine, then it becomes a better proposition. BB aren't in this to make the game easily playable for absolutely no cost, they need to make a little money out of people to keep the servers running. If you refuse to pay and can't be bothered to buff, just sell the tools, hwp and marble to someone who is.

buff haven't anything with amount of ressourses you get from it, and 300 gold isn't 300 coins, coinage use 4 gold to make 1 coin. I do understand they need some money income to keep servers live, but what Im saying is "gold mine" is usless, noone will build it, noone will buy gems to use deposit on it, so it doesn't halp to anyone, even players, even game/server owners.

One mine buffed for the time it exists is a total of 600 ore, that is 600 gold bars from a buffed smelter, that is 300 coins from buffed coinage.

give the server enough time and everyone will be building these, as the demand for gold will grow exponentially, and the supply will get thinner and thinner long as people keep levelling up.

So even fully buffed, with everything working at full capacity, instead of selling the materials, you will make around 30gold from your investment difference. And thats before you factor in the resources and time needed to make everything. Is the benefit of 30 gold out weighing that of having a building slot? Especially as doing 20 mins of trading on the trade board can make you 30 gold. I agree with Fapian, the investment required for the making of the gold mine is not worth the time or effort you would get out of it.

If noone builds the mines, the only source you can get money from on trade are newer players, perhaps few coins here and there if you send your explorers on treasure hunts. You can trust me if I say this doesnt cover even 10% of the gold average player will need for upgrades and other stuff.

You also dont factor the demand for specific materials, the fact that you can find a trade offer with 30 coins in exchange for 400 marble (hypothethically), that does only mean that you can make 30 coins once. You cant expand it into thinking that if you have 4000 marble, you will straight up gain 300 coins, and that you can do it every day the same way for the same price. Thats pretty obvious as those materials youre talking about is what every single player above level 17 can produce, and apart from some specific situations theres absolutely no reason anyone would buy them, let alone make such trade a viable way of making gold for literally hundreds of players.

That + limited amount of gold from quests brings us back to what I posted before, sooner or later everyone will swallow the cost of the mines and start producing coins themselves.

i do see what he means abotu it not being worth it, but i do agree everyone will have to build it sooner or later. the way i see it for the moment or how i suspect it will be, the newer players will flood the market with gold and the higher lvl player (35+) will also do this... as they will be the only ones who have the resorces and capability's to get a gold mine working regually. Really it again comes down too, will you get extra buffs ect from the shop and or just explorers, and use them to find gold for you. along with other mats to spend... in my opinion i think they should make it bigger, or gold bars cheapers to make. say 1 gold ore too 1 gold bar. but to make gold coins you need 2 or 3 gold bars or something... you dont get as much gold again but you get more. which benifits those who cant buff buildings constantly.

sparkz I get youre point but still I'm based on selling ressorses instead building gold mine. Most of my account I builded on trade, specially early game when poeople didn't understand really value of some resursses (I mean it is point of good trader), I overpass from bronze swords to steal swords,got only 1 bowmaker and 1 longbowmaker unupgraded, no stable, between I just made trade, now every day I'm selling over 2k marble, hwp and tools beside other ressurses, and it's really easy trade 400=25 coin (30 coin for people with more pation). Im earning daily about 300-400 gold just on selling this same ressurses needed for building gold mine.

Im not saying you dont, im saying you cant put it as "this is a reliable way of making money everyone can use". Making coins is, and its probably a good idea to realize it and start preparing your (your as in all players) production to handle building the mines in later stages of the game.

The gold mine is very worth it. I admit it didn't seem worth it when I did the maths like you - the resources to build one mine versus having only 300 ore in it seemed very strange, and then when you look down the production chain and don't get very much out of the other end I was a bit wtf too?
The thing is the game changes as you go up the levels. By the time you start playing with gold you should be clearing out the last two zones - clearing these zones takes a LOT of time. During that time you aren't spending very much on resources - You have to replace iron and coal mines, but your wood and stone income are much more than the cost of these mine replacements. You will also do a lot of building upgrades that use wood and stone until you hit the upgrades that cost gold. And there's the hint - eventually you start needing gold - a LOT of gold - for everything.
Lets put it like this, even at the ridiculous cost per gold mine I always have 2 and try and aim for 3 gold mines continually working as much as possible.
I keep the coinage and smelter and mines buffed as much as possible. The coinage is the most important because of the maths, but I always try and keep them all buffed always. I've just bought my 3rd explorer which is crazy at 1600 gold - imagine how many resources 1600 gold would buy on the market - but the point is none of the earlier resources are much use to me any more, and they come in faster than I need anyway. I just hit level 31 about half an hour ago and now it seems that I need explorers more than ever before for expert resources so maybe not so crazy buying a 3rd explorer for 1600 ? :)

Anyway going back to the original question - at some point you will have enough resources spare to continually build gold mines with no financial pain and you should do so as quickly as possible when you get to that stage in my opinion. I'm now about spend all my gold income on upgrades where it costs several hundred gold per upgrade. Also fyi there is no option to buy a 4th explorer atm at any price.
The game changes the higher you get, you are just close to a changeover point where your priorities change.
Also you don't have to rebuild the gold smelter or coinage which is one small relief :)

Well i got that point, but everthying you say gimpgimp Im allready doing or done, 3rd explorer I had if I remember right arround lvl 18 or 19, like I said before I made bronze swords production x3 and till steal swords I didn't make anything, just tradeing for units, now I have complete production from iron smelter to steal swords x3 and upgradeing all to lvl 3, so I do useing lot of gold, and all this I made with trade only, so I can say Im player who have really good access to trade market. Well I can understand gold mine could be usefull ones when all players get some lvls, low gold income from lvling or explreing, but I think as most of games this type, new players will keep comeing till server don't get empty by it salf, it just circleing of players, and gold will be allways there.

yea, but not in the amounts that will satisfy the demand of players in their 30-40s.

Newfoundland server is reputed to be full, so the endless influx of new inexperienced players is at an end. I'm sure BB will weed out dead accounts to allow a trickle of new players in, but the bulk of the members are going to be far less likely to part with coins for resources they can easily produce themselves. That will push the values down towards the levels the trade threads from the german servers are used to. The more depressed prices get, the more attractive a working gold production chain is going to become by comparison.

By all means trade away your tools, marble and planks for a handsome profit while you can, but don't expect it to last forever.

If you build a gold mine spend 75 marbles to get 500 extra gold

you can already see gold is becoming worth more than even a few weeks ago. It's obvious that as all the 'free' gold you get at the start is spent gold will become worth more and more.

I'm planning to try this:

1. Build a gold mine.
2. Stop production of the mine.
3. Upgrade the mine as much as I can.
4. Buff the mine and start production (stop it when I know I cannot re-buff it)
5. Stop production before mine expires.
6. Wait two weeks to collect 90 diamonds.
7. Buy a golden parrot to add 500 do the mine.

How does it sound? Could work?

If youre satisfied with it running 12-15 hours every 2 weeks then sure.

well yes but my intention is to try it in the beginning when it costs waaaaay to much to build a new mine each time :)

To build a mine once every 3 days you need a tiny bit more than a single lv3 sawmill, a single lv3 marble maker and a single lv3 toolmaker. Over the time of 2 weeks you will get almost 3k ore (almost 5 three-day cycles, 600 ore from each mine buffed), which is around 6 time more than by doing what youre trying to do, with no investment of gems, and with almost no time spent playing (1 buff once every 6-9 hours if we count the mine alone and replenishing a marble deposit from time to time).

Even if we assume the worst case scenario (you cant buff every time, so you keep the mine stopped for some time of the day, we account for the time spent looking for a new deposit and all the inefficiency related), its still a couple times more ore than your idea gives.

That's exactly the point. How can You buy gold if no one will produce it? After some time people will spent all the amount of gold they got for free at the beginning of the game and the prices will increase. Nevertheless I wouldn't be sad if there was 400 or little more gold ore in a mine.

This is incorrect. A buffed mine is emptied in the same time as a non buffed mine. But every cycle it produces dubble the amount of resources. So a buffed mine DOES have double the amount of ore.

Maybe Im just an amateur, but Im lvl 27 and I got three gold mines up 24/7, with some clever trades I get all the mats I need.

Just sayin. the costs aint that bad.

I don't build Gold mines, I build Brewery, and convert it for coins (if no one ever buy my beer)

how much Gold exactly you get for each mine/day?
because I can convert up to 90 coins/day (9k beer)
if I had better luck, I can sold a stack of beer for 25 coins

Keeping the whole gold production system buffed at all times can result in a 300 ore mine ending up as 300 coins.
Yes, gold mines are worth building because, at the end of the day, it will be the best source of gold coins.

Y till now i got the point of it, so I can say you all guys are right and wrong in same time. Prices does go down every day, 'cause 2 muc people on the market, everyone wont to sell, so everyone make price (gold) lover and lover. But so far it's not time to build gold mine, not yet, prices are still good, so not worth to build it, lets say soon will be but not yet. Now I have cca 500 gold daily income from tradeing, still didn't build gold mine, but lets say in 3-4 weak prices will be so low that gold mine will get sance to build. Allso one thing could give more sance to this, not everyone can be online all the time, or every few hours, most of the people can log in morning and late afthernoon, poeople work, school, whatever, so 6h buff give cind anfair game play 2 them infront of guys that have avaible comp all the day, and it's like 50-50% people. So 12h buff would be inaf 2 make all this corect and valiable for all players, as fair game to all and gold mine worth to build.

Fapion, ask a friend to buff with Irma's basket and get 9 hours.
12 hour buffs are available already but you need to use gems.
Some items need to be left as premium item, so don't ask for 12 hour Provision house buffs.

Like any other special resource you need LOTS of them, but the nice part of coins is the fact that the number of needed coins is rather limited. You use it for upgrading buildings, buying more generals/explorers and sending the explorers out. Except for the sending of the explorers, all has to be done only once. When your building is level 5 its ready. You don't need to spend ANYTHING ever again on that building. Its only the reason why the production of coins is soo expensive and hard, if they made it too easy everyone would be having L5 building.

Unlike copper/iron, you don't need an endless suplly of it. I am using my coinage to fund the explorer, which can be easily done with an L2 coinage, even while you run it only buffed and then only 12 hours per day :)
