there should be a saver way to pay this is rediculous

i bought the nords from *** and if send the money, and he never send the adventure he wend offline and after he was back online he sayd that he didnt know a thing about me sending him any gc

this is ridiculous, there should be a way to send ur stuff and accept his stuff and only when both players accept the resources should be send at the same time

here is the conversation, would like some admin to have a look at this.

Edit BB_Azariel: I'm sorry but we do not allow players to post names/point fingers publicly. Please contact support with this as they are the only ones to be able to do something about it.

Sorry to see this Louw, what a complete lowlife.

I believe that the new trade system will allow players to trade adventures much safer.

Hopefully not too long before then.

I feel for you Louw, and yes it is an ongoing problem. I am glad you send in the conversation.

I strongly believe in the trade of the game, it's the reason why I stick with settlers. I also strongly believe in in-guild trade and dislike the 400 limit.
If the system would open up the limit cap, than it would be less of a problem where scammer's exploit out well earned goods just because of the limit cap. Anytime we have a trade value surpassing 400, we are oping the door for Scam-artist.

I certainly hope that the guy is removed from the game. I also like to see an easy access list of black listed players.

    Hi Louw,

As Sinister-King said, the new trade system will allow you to trade adventures and big quantities of resources withought this kind of problem.
Hopefully, this will drastically help in reducing scamming and bad traders.

A reaction like this, doesn't really help the situation. It kind of looks like scamming is supported by the game administration. Louw put real money into the game, and that got stolen because the trade system isn't finished yet.

The scammer in question, is disrupting the trade channel, bragging about how he cheated 3 people or just insulting people. Tonight he got a 2 hour ban for racist language, and 5 minutes later he returned with his multi account.

Why not just refund the stolen coins and ban scammers like that. Or are they allowed to stay because they add to the game?

    Btw:
I just saw the new trade tab on the testserver. It's worse than the current one.

Agree with Mooh. Its getting worse and worse. Every day receiving friend requests from known reverse traders. And they keep doing it with unpunity. How its possible such big company allows for this kind of behaviour. If you cant prevent it, atleast refund stolen stuff, shouldnt be that hard to check logs and repay what was stolen.

reverse trade is something that falls within buyer beware policy. It is impossible to put restrictions on trade based on the relative values of trades.

I agree with the need for bigger money trades for stuff like adventures

With reverse traders the only real solution is /ignoreadd em. Policing is a hopeless venture in the long run. Ofc if they are shown to be double accounting, that is a reason for perma ban so if he bragged on a second account, then that can be petitioned/ticket reported to support for further invenstigation and hopefully a ban

I seen various people suggesting monetary value checks on trades in some form or another- but this would make some trades extremely difficult or impossible and some actions (like giving a guildy some materials) impossible- so the cure would imo be worse than the disease. And policing trades/invenstigating em wont really solve issues as the scammer community will find another scam to abuse- like buying an adventure and later claiming to have been scammed on some of the payment trades. Esp. when some time has passed investigating logs would become problematic and the other problem is having to store all chatlogs, including whispers, guildchat and all channels and having robust search and parsing software to facilitate investigations. Not the best prospect for getting it in place when a "buyer beware" policy solves it as well for em

Of course you can. Reverse trading, or random trades, falls under abuse. Same as spamming chat, or insulting people. It's easy enough to enforce.

And otherwise, there is a simple fix that could be done in the user interface. Just make it impossible for 'friends' to send trade requests directly. Show only the trade option when clicking on someones name in whisper (or if it's a guild member). Same as the add friend option, very annoying that every time you post a trade in Trade Tab, you get a few random friend requests.
