    This is pointless

    I've been playing this game for a couple of weeks now, and to be honest I'm starting to find it all a bit boring, and a bit labourious,

    I'm on to gaining my last sector, only to discover that to actually conquer just the camps is going to take several hundred if not nearly a thousand recruits of varying skill, the final boss has 60000 hit points !! thats about 2 regiments to take out one person ! please some reality !!

    I also haven't bothered about the last Golem I'm on, really, are people that bored, it takes more resources to get rid of the thing than you can possibly gain from the 50 pumpkins you get as a "reward".

    Finally the lag on the server is awful, and I mean awful, I'm running a top spec laptop, on fibre optic broadband, and at times I'm checking to see if my mouse is broken.

    The Settlers series was a great series, but it's slowly got clumsy and heavy, and this latest incarnation has to be the worst ever, go back to the paths, the tried distribution method, the tried economy, c'mon 4 gold bars to make one coin !!

    250 sheets of paper to produce one manuscript and 3days !! thats some manuscript.

    All I regret is that I actually wasted real money to get somewhere in this game.

    1. we all did the same, if you don't like the fact that camps get harder to kill you wont enjoy the lots of troops you will kill per adventure and some 1000's upon 1000's when you get a high enough level to do them if you chose to.
    2. the game is very repetitive but that's just the way its been all the time.
    3. we all have lag BB blame us all the time not there servers so that's a loosing battle.
    4. 3 days for a manuscript does speed up when you upgrade the bookmaker, plus there are buffs (glue and resin) you can get of trade to speed this up also.
    5. think alot of us have spent some real money on the game, but nobody makes you some do play and never spend any real money in the game

    Hi SirLegalot,

    The game is very repetitive, as lulu said. It's also not a game where you get anywhere in a hurry. It takes most people at least a few months to get to level 40. Lag has been worse the last week, especially today just before maintenance. I'm assuming it's something to do with the event. Making 1000 recruits in the barracks is pretty slow. There are guides if you want to use the most efficient killing method for clearing the home island.

    I think for a lot of players who last more than a few months, we find it has the right combination of monotonous (refilling deposits/fields) and excitement (high stakes blocks on adventures) to keep us playing. There is also the social aspect with guilds. I certainly didn't go past Golem #5, but feel pretty happy with what I managed to get out of the Halloween event.

    If you think it's 4 gold bars -> one gold coin, you haven't understood the gold chain properly. It took me awhile to get my head around it. It's like this. If you use 2x buffs on your gold mine, gold smelter and coinage:

    300 gold ore in a mine -> 600 gold ore extracted -> 600 gold bars -> 300 gold coins

    It's probably not economical with level 1 buildings because of the cost of buffs, but I make plenty of coins out of my level 4 buildings.

    I hope you spent your gems on a Veteran General, not completing buildings or upgrades.
