Guild quest - Ready the crossbowman

Maybe this topic already exists somewhere but I couldn't find it.

Point of this topic is to ask you about your opinion on this pointless guild quest (pointless in my eyes), is this one on the "cancel" list in your guild or you are actually completing this one?

Basically, in this quest you are obliged to pay 25 crossbows. The other requirement is unimportant in this matter (produce 25 retired bandits). So to produce 25 XB you have to spend 400 Exotic Wood and 300 Titanium Ore. I ignored coal cost as it's very low and buffing which could lower needed titanium ore twice with baskets or even more with other buffs but then we should calculate the value of those buffs. So to make 25 XB you have to spend over 400 gold coins in value on Sandycove server (without buffing your Titanium Smelter) or around 300 gold coins (if you buff your titanium smelter with baskets), but in return the most you can get is 137 guild coins if your guild has max amount of members, and the value of those guild coins is in best case 110 gold coins.

So, to get yourself resources of 110 gold coins value you have to spend resources of over 400 (300) gold coins in value. I don't see any point of doing this one, it's beyond any logic what-so-ever.

What do you think, I would like to hear different opinion?

I have never made xbows and I have thousands in stock from loot. So this quest doesn't bother me that much. The GQ I hate is the pay 40 carriages one, carriages are not given in loot so the only way to get them is make them or buy them which costs a fortune.

It is more than likely that there are many members in your guild that can give you those 25 xbows to complete the guild quest without a thought.

As others say, as soon as you have done a few BK's and other adventures in that level range you will have more xbows than you ever need.

Sorry guys, was out of this world for 2 days with toothache (wanted to throw myself of balcony). Well, now when I look at this quest from your point of view I see a point in taking this one on, but still not for some time in my case as I still haven't got 250 crossbowmen. Also, it might be better if they just didn't put expert weapons as a reward in adventures but the resources needed to make them, this way most people would actually have to produce those weapons, at least amount of wapons to produce first 200-270 units of that kind.
