    Quest window auto-open

    Hello,

For some time now (maybe a month?) I have been having this same behaviour every time I log into the game.

When I do, I see a window with the news, as usual. I close this window.
Then I click anywhere to start doing anything.
Now the quest window pops. I close this window.
Then the "daily reward" window appears. I close this window.
Then another window appears related to the prior. I close this window.

Before I can start doing anything I have to close about 4 windows poping up when my fingers and mind were already set to do something else.

It is not the end of the world, but it gets very annoying after a while and strays away from a user friendly log in. Having the news window and the "daily reward" once a day is enough. More than that just annoys the user and makes him close any windows appearing without even reading them, i.e. useless pop-ups.

I agree that this is annoying. There are also a large number of other aspects of the game which risk RSI. Unfortunately we players of the game do not band together and provide BB with a priority list of things we would like fixed - there are too many people who have their own particular gripe and downplay another's problem because they want theirs fixed first. If I could afford a magic wand I'd wave it and create some extra programmers for BB, but there is a famous quote: "that ain't gonna happen".

Hi VVidi, thanks for the reply.

I think that not every problem can always be fixed by throwing in new programmers. Moreover, that's not always the desirable course of action (Brooks law). Maybe it is in this case, but that's not for me to decide.

In any case, we are not talking about a new feature, the multiple pop ups is either an existing feature (a strange one, because doesn't provide anything other than annoyance to me) or a bug.

If it is a feature, then it is not a problem of manpower but a a wrong decision (from my point of view). If the direction ends up agreeing it was a wrong decision then it is only a matter of putting this on the roadmap. Rolling back to the previous functionality should be very simple with a good version control system and sometimes even without it. If they disagree then my options are adapt or die (not literally, of course), and I'm sure I'll adapt to it.

If it is a bug, then tracking down the bug does require some man power. Putting this on the roadmap depends on how much does it cost and how important it is (compared to other bugs and features). Since I know neither I am not competent on prioritizing bugs and features on this project either.

The only thing I'm competent on is to let the company (and other users, in case they want to band together as you say) know about my user experience with the game.

As I said initially, not the end of the world and I can live with this. I hope my post was not seen as a rant nor a campaign to get "my stuff" fixed first.

What you suggest of banding together to build up a priority list common to all users sounds good, but may be a utopia. This can only happen if the company hosts it and provides the means (a web platform designed for it). A single user can also build up such a platform, but that's not nearly enough. It means nothing without an acknowledgement from BB and working together (making a commitment to take this 1 list into account when deciding their roadmaps, redirecting people from vague posts on the forums to a place designed for managing user feedback, bugs and new features, ...). In any case it's in BBs hands, not in the users.

Once again I agree with you perfectly. Your post was far from a rant - it was a genuine observation about a shortcoming in the game. At least you and I can join together in a common opinion and hope this issue makes its way onto BB's "let's look at it" list

These are features not bugs. The most recent the last one in your list was added for the Xmas 2013 event. I presume that one is generating enough revenue for the company that the number of complaints about it has not reached a threshold number to remove it.

I got a finger which hurts from all the clicking, mostly from creating 10000 troops in batches of 25 ... *lifts up 3rd finger on right hand in order to show proof to BB*
