The news on the front page said that the update planned for today had been postponed. The servers still went down on time though so what will we look forward to when the servers come back up?
Or did someone forget to unqueue the server close after the update was postponed?
I understood it to be that they were not implementing the changes that had been announced, but were still planning to do the normal maintenance.

That is correct. Only the normal maintenance was performed this morning.
The announced deployment has been postponed for now and it will be rescheduled for a future date.
