Have been Level 50 for a long time and while still collecting coins on some adventures the counter is not changing and this quest will not finish or count new coin collections.
Have been at 2,250 of 10,000 coins for months - see no action being taken on this quest or it being recognised as a bug though there are plenty of posts in the "Bugs and Technical Issues" area. I have done all the cache resets as suggested by Jamdoggy's post but still have the issue??
what adventures have u been doing
That quest will only count coins from epic adventures: Roaring bull, Black Knights, Secluded experiments, Dark Brotherhood. Are you sure you are doing these adventures, and that any coins from these are not being counted?

Duhh - slinking into corner now and hiding - yep had to be epic adventures to get it to work LOL - at least sorted now

Like Lorja, I have the same quest and problem. Unlike Lorja, I am doing BK with premium. My counter hasn't moved despite me receiving 600gc as loot plus 300gc for the premium. Sent it to star first then moved it to storage. Showed up in storage but not on the counter. It was a loot spot. Do I have to start the adv to have it register on the counter? Thanks in advance.
Both adventures you start and loot spots count towards this quest.
When it comes to Gene pools and shallow ends they can be found at the bar drinking pina colada's
