I am currently in Sandycove but have been in for 4 hours or so. I imagine if I leave I won't be getting back in again.

it should now be working again. We have published a news piece about it a few minutes ago:

This afternoon, there were temporary login issues with Uplay. These were resolved by Ubisoft around 17:00 CEST. If you are redirected to the Ubisoft website after login, you may have to clear your browser history.
