    Question Pushing = Ban?

Well today I got an unpleasant surprise when I tryed to log in to my account.. I couldn't get in.. I got told I was banned and I should contact support and so I did..

I was permanently banned cos of pushing resources around in between profiles.. For the record I only have 1 account but I'm in a very helpful guild where we give away res if we can spare it.. But it's not allowed to do so not even within the guild.. It is apparently stated in terms of use.. I've asked support to tell me where exactly I can find that section so I can warn the rest of my guild..

Luckily I got my ban lifted but it raises a good question.. Exactly what is pushing? Some threads says it is trading between 2 accounts on the same IP.. Others that it is just repeatable trades ex. 400 copper ore for 1 pine log..

So please Blue Byte can't you make it more clearly to us players what pushing really is?

And if it is for giving away res in guild I don't get the point of being in a guild..

This thread is meant for Blue Byte aswell as a warning to other players in the game..

    Best of Luck all,
    Ninjaette

Shouldn't it be up to the players who are trading to say what is a fair trade or not?

I can see why they think it would be possible to abuse the system, and even why they have put the rule in place (albeit unwisely), but the way it's being policed leaves something to be desired. You can't treat communal games like this as a police state or a dictatorship.

So far today 7 of our guild members from across Europe have all been banned for "Pushing". None of these players have ever even shared a common city let alone IP address. If pushing is against the rules and players are being summarily banned then there will be about 90% less players on our server in a week or two!

Edit 9 members now. That's over 10% of our active members in 1 day!

It would be very interesting to see the exact wording of the explanation that BB support gave you for the ban.

It does though as you have poited out raise some very interesting points - Is there any real purpose in being in a guild now? It would seem that only unmoderated chat is now available + a few xp for members of large guilds when the guild quests start - So is that the reason for this clamp down to prevent people trading within their guilds to prevent guild quests being too easy??

What about buff for buff swapping, will that fall into that category?

Friends? Why have a friend if you can't help each other with a bit of friendly trading?

I like this made up term of "pushing" - it goes with stacks as being 2 of the most silly terms in this game and I always thought that other than shoving heavy objects around, it was all to do with a non pegi-7 related activity . . .

Somewhere lurking in this forum maze is a thread where BB stated that they wouldn't impose a price for goods - i.e. price fixing, but this "pushing" terminology is just that except they aren't going to say what the prices are before they descend on us!, wierd

I know that some people do have multiple accounts in 1 realm and that they do use them to support either 1 main account or a couple of accounts and I back the efforts to stamp this out and do realise the difficulty in identifying some of these people, but there are cases of families playing on one realm, of couples playing on one realm, should they be punished? (Let you guess where I stand on that!)

So BB you really have got to quickly come up with a definitive answer on this one else my guild will be dissolved overnight, as lot more will be I suspect - perhaps swallowing some pride this time and going back to the way things have been might be the best answer and perhaps rewarding people who flush out the real cheats

I think it's extremely poor form to class helping guildies out as pushing... I've levelled up to my early 30s and now when someone gets their branch office in the guild I often give them a couple of thousand resources to get them started... I also have a friend I play with and we do quite a lot of 2 player adventures together... I provide all his coal and he sends me any bread I need and provides the horses for our adventures... is this going to get us banned just because we decided to build our economies to work together?

"Pushing" is using multiple accounts to "push" one (often main) account forewards.
In other words, this is when one or several accounts send ressources to another account in order for that account to benefit from 3 or 4 times more ressources than other accounts of the same level would normally be able to access at that level.

This creates several things, the main one of them being that the account that is "pushed" by other players gains an unfair advantage compared to normal players who do not have the time or ressources to do this.
This is why we have banned this practice.

If you were banned because of this, please send a ticket to support for us to be able to check the ban and figure out what really happened. Do not worry, if the ban was not deserved we will make sure you get appropriate compensation.
On the other hand, complaining on the forum or the in-game chat can earn you a permanent ban from the game as it disrupts the game for other players.

    Thank you for your understanding.
    Best regards,
    BB_Azariel

PS: after questions from players, let me clarify something. Pushing is generally done by one player with several accounts (also called multi-accounting)... so if you send resources from your account to a friend's account via trade in order to help him out, this is not considered to be pushing.

I am no longer the Community Manager for this version of TSO. Please send any question to BB_Ravel.
