I propose that Generals gain hit points as they win battles dependent on the strength of the opposition. If they lose a battle they lose hit points. Maximum gain being 1k hit points, max loss to original hit points.

tbh Id rather see something more simple like tavern gens travelling in 15 minutes like BHGs etc.
