    Russian Settlers

I've been playing on Newfoundland for slightly longer than the past two years. This week I moved to a new job in Kiev. As a result I am always redirected to the Russian site for the game and can't access my European account. I can only play via a proxy and that is super laggy (think specialist week with a billion rabbits on the island laggy).

Shouldn't it be possible to log in to the European version from Ukraine instead of being automatically redirected?

I would think if you use the full link (pasted into the browser) you should be able to. Try www.thesettlersonline.com/eu ?
Is it possible the service you are using is forcing redirect for some (or all) sites? You could maybe check with the ISP about that.

Good luck - that must be frustrating.
Sorry, but I've slept since then...

Doesn't work sadly. I still get redirected. I can log in on the Russian site using my EU details but then I'm told my registration is not yet complete. If I click to complete it I'm given a list of Russian servers to choose from before I can log in. It can't be so hard to see that my account is an EU account and to give me the EU server list. Or even to roll the Russian servers into the same portal as all the others and let the player choose from the full range.

HMA is a pretty good vpn / proxy Iain and you can select a number of end points that you want to appear to originate from - speed seems pretty decent but not played online games through the service. May be worth a try?

I'm using Cyberghost which also allows a choice of nations and servers inside those countries. So far the best workaround I have found is to connect with the proxy active then turn off the proxy and hope that the regular network picks up before the game times out. That woks fine as long as I don't need to relog for any reason. Would be much better if I could just use the .com/eu domain and connect directly no matter where I was. My guild has players from the US and New Zealand who can connect to the EU service so it seems odd that the Russian sphere is treated differently.

It may not be the same issue but the rerouting to either .ru (Russia) or .br (Brazil) came up a number of times way back when. This is really old but any chance either suggestion, DNS/Facebook, in this thread apply? problems logging in
