Hi, Am having problems trying to Whisper friends.I can get the small window where the whisper is with friends name there,but can't write any message. I'm on the Sandycove UK server,anyone else had or having similar problems.I have cleared out the Chrome browser cache etc but still no joy.

Have you made sure that you have clicked their name in the small box in the whisper tab itself? Otherwise you won't be able to type or see their chat....
Hi, Yes to that.I click on friends name in the bottom bar,which then highlights the whisper area and their name appears therein in a small box.When I click there either in the small named box or the larger whisper area nothing happens. It's the same in the other areas of the bottom window ie trade /help etc unable ti input txt. If I click on friends name in the bottom bar to either visit or send e mail,then no problem ?
I have the same problem...
No matter what I try it won't let me type anything in the whisper tab,
although I can see other people's whispers fine.
One of the folks on my F-list also experiences this bug.

Pitty...I imagined Iolanthe to be prettier...
But, without the jokes: for me it works fine.
Little user unfriendly though. Few things don't feel too natural.
Not much like MSN, Office Communicator, Skype. One would expect some kind of communication window to popup once one start talking to you.
Also the looks of this box with "Iolanthe X" is strange. It looks like something that needs to be clicked on to maximize.

It can be tricky to figure out Whisper, and sometimes it bugs which doesn't help. Here's hoping Fexno's guide makes things a little clearer.

Step two/three.. No cursor appears when I click on the name , if I try typing, no text appears.
Do you click the text (typing) box before typing? That should bring up the cursor. Clicking the name doesn't, though you may need to click the name to highlight it and connect to a specific whisper or see an incoming message.
I believe it's my fault it's incorrect in the guide, my apologies for the confusion.
At one point I did have a bug that caused Whisper to look like News usually does:

but it cleared when I refreshed.
If yours is like that try the standard "Refresh, clear cache and cookies and relog" and changing browsers can fix some strange things. If none of that helps I'd suggest a ticket to Support. (Do tell them you've tried the home remedies already.)

Yup, I've tried clicking everywhere.
Tried that already before posting here the first time.
I get the same result with both Internet Explorer and Firefox, I guess I'll just have to try contacting support.
