I, too, have this bug.
It resets my island when I am trying to build, and I have to do the decorative items all over.
usually once every 4 to 5 minutes the flashing "Quest complete" will pop up to tell me I have defeated the leader.
At level 38 I defeated that 'leader' a long time ago.

I am going to chime in and 'hope' for a fix soon.

This bug is listed as being fixed in our latest changelog, so we should expect to have this resolved by the 8th

The "Death to the Leaders" quest was not working properly.
