Are you sure it is meant for the Mayor's house? There is a different type which you can place into a mine itself.

I want to build the "exotic wood sawmill".
I have ~600 exotic wood from looting/explorer.
The sawmill for exotic wood costs 9000 Hardwood planks. No storehouse or Mayor's house can hold this amount.
To upgrade the Mayor's house I need exotic wood planks.
But I can't produce exotic wood planks because the Mayor's house is not upgraded yet.
I have a catch 22 here. How do I get out of this?

To increase production of hardwood planks I built, as a temporary measure, an additional sawmill. Now I don't need it any longer.
How do I delete it? In the past I could click on it and find the demolition bomb. This has disappeared.

I found it in the build menu, under toolbox. It was not immediately obvious to me that in order to demolish something, you need to go to "build".

Upgrade storehouses and your total storage will also go up.
